Biography
When Brittney Monroe was four years old her mother took her to a performance of The Nutcracker ballet, and by the second act Brittney knew she wanted to perform for the rest of her life. She began dancing with Dorothy Percival at Ballet San Joaquin studying ballet, tap and jazz, but soon discovered her love of plays and musical theater.
She performed all throughout her childhood doing various ballets such as The Nutcracker, Cinderella, Peter and the Wolf, and danced the lead in The Jewel Heart.
Brittney attended San Joaquin Delta College where she was accepted into the two year acting program under Harvey Jordan. She was fortunate enough to play various roles such as Little Sally in Urinetown, Mary Lane in Reefer Madness, Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Candy Starr in One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest. She found she was spending so much time in the theater that her other studies fell by the way side. This led her to The Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts.
Brittney was able to study stage combat, voice, dance, acting, movement, mask work, clowning, Shakespeare and other awesome things at PCPA. She graduated in May of 2012.
After graduation she moved to LA and began working for Jennifer Lopez at JLE where she found that she didn't want just any job in the entertainment industry, but to be an entertainer. She left her job in the big glass office and began auditioning once again and when California Theatre Center offered her a year long contract to be a full time company member, she jumped at the opportunity to get back on stage.
She packed her bags and moved to the Bay Area to and hasn't looked back since! If you frequent children's shows, you might have seen her in the title roles of ‘Brave Irene,’ ‘Charlotte’s Web,’ 'Puss in Boots,' and 'Harry is a Dirty Dog.' She also performed in ‘The Frog Prince.’ 'Elves and the Shoemaker,' 'Tom Sawyer,' and 'I Don't Want to go to Bed.' all at CTC.
